Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den betting is prohibited. Eight gambling dens are situated in a generally tiny area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime location, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income accrued from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of controls constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, financial sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 1700, and although visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are ways around this, as is correct of most border crossings.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked ship gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slots and 60 table games. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of 21, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel complex that contains numerous amenities aside from the gambling hall, which houses ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight table games.
