The relative shortage in the numbers of, Mozambique’s casinos is in one sense rather uncertain, in one way or another.

In years before now, the area was a location where numerous South Africans would visit to flee from the considerably restrictive policies on casino gambling (and, it has to be said, mixing with other races) that they had at home. So, you might anticipate a picture of a flourishing industry to serve that tourist market.

At the same time, perhaps it isn’t particularly an amazement. The region is evidently the most deficient worldwide, having been through a horrific civil war (followed by crushing floods) from which it is still, very slowly, rebounding. This may make a location lesser of a travel focal point, even though there is now a developing display along several of the country’s stunning beaches.

It is also true that regionally to a certain degree, casinos in Mozambique have had to partake with casinos in the recently liberalized South Africa, which comprises of the exemplary Sun City founded by the Kerzner family corporation.

And, of course, the finest prawns (shrimp) around the world come from just offshore, in the Mozambique Channel.
